During the great tribulation (typified as 5 months of torment) the unsaved in the church will “seek death” in Christ but will not find salvation because they are attempting to become saved by their own works (e.g., water baptism, the Lord’s supper, accepting Jesus). These works gospels give evidence that they will not become saved because they have not been sealed or led into truth by the Holy Spirit. However, the true believers will “die in the Lord” because they have not only been sealed by the Holy Spirit but they are ready to give their lives for Christ and the gospel’s sake—especially during the latter rain when God brings His elect out of the church to preach the gospel right up to the end of the world.
