June 27, 2021(Summer Quarter): Sunday School Lesson 4 - "Elijah Rebukes King Ahab" (I Kings 21:17-29). "The overriding truth for this summer quarter is a simple one: the Christian life is not for the faint of heart. God calls His people to be people of courage. Simply trusting Him takes courage; we must step out of our safe havens of comfort and follow Him wherever He leads." (Bible Expositor and Illuminator, Summer Quarter 2021, Looking Ahead, p. 2). This summer quarter, we discuss people of valor and their trust in God and witness God's mighty acts through His awesome power. In this fourth lesson we examine the faith and boldness of the prophet Elijah as God calls upon him to rebuke King Ahab and deliver a seething message regarding the future of King Ahab and his wife Queen Jezebel. We observe that God will protect and take care of those who trust in Him. Hopefully you will gain an understanding that the power of God is not governed or contained by our human understanding or the finiteness of the laws of nature. It is our endeavor that the study of these summer quarter lessons help nurture our minds and spirits and mature us to experience healthier living. Come journey with us as we delve into the Word together.
