Obedience is one of the most important things children have to learn. They must learn “no” means “no.” It’s also important that adults understand that lesson too. Throughout the Bible, there are many examples of obedience and disobedience to God. One of the most famous instances is King Saul’s disobedience by failing to obey God’s command regarding the Amalekites. At the end of his life, facing a hostile enemy in battle, Saul sought help from a witch in Endor in order to learn the outcome of the coming war. What he heard is that his disobedience had finally come home to trouble him.
