8/28/2022 Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost Luke 14:1-14, Proverbs 25:6-7, Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16
Have you ever wondered why so many portrayals of the Last Supper, aka the First Holy Communion have an open side to the table? Of course there is the artistic license taken so all faces can be seen. But I like to see it as a symbol of the open table. All are invited to the “wedding banquet.” If you have never been invited, we haven’t done the job Jesus gave us in today’s Gospel reading.
