1. The Glory of God Departed From Israel
1 Samuel 4:21-22
Ichabod means “no glory”.
Exodus 40:34-35
The Glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle
2. Shiloh Destroyed
Jeremiah 7:12-15
Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
3. Even Idols Bow Down to Him
1 Samuel 5:1-5
Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the LORD, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off on the threshold.
4. Samson in the House of Dagon
Judges 16:23-30
Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.
So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life.
5. The hand of God was hard against the Philistines and their god.
1 Samuel 5:6-7
He terrified and afflicted them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory.
6. The temporary solution - send it somewhere else.

7. Send it back to its own place.

The men who did not die were struck with tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
8. The recognition of a true God.
1 Samuel 6:1-9
What shall we do with the ark of the LORD?
Send it away, but do not send it away empty.
Return to Him a guilt offering, perhaps he will lighten his hand from off you and your gods and your land.
9. Conclusions for today.
Recognize the hand of God.
Worship him as God.
Repent of any evil we have done.
Intercede for the world around us.
