Psalm 13:1-6

I. THE QUESTION OF ENDURANCE (Psalm 13:1-2)

A. Foundational Information

1. This psalm opens with five questions.
2. Each one has the same theme—how long?
3. The question of how long was asked of the Lord by David more than by any other man.
4. It was asked more by David in this particular psalm than in any other psalm. This in and of itself should be a tremendous eye-opener to the severity and sobriety of the message contained in this psalm.
5. The question is generally asked in times of great frustration or utmost concern.

B. Between the Lord and Man (Psalm 13:1)

1. The question of being forgotten
2. The question of being forsaken

C. Between Man and Man (Psalm 13:2)

1. The question of being dejected
2. The question of being defeated

II. THE CONCERN OF ENDURANCE (Psalm 13:3-4)
