Today on #CrackYourBible, we’re talking about Abram, Sarai and Pharaoh in Egypt. While Abram was a man of God, he was first and foremost a human being. Unfortunately, that meant that, ruthless businessman that he was, when famine struck, Abram was ready to pounce on a financial windfall that awaited him in Egypt.

Just because it’s in the Bible, doesn’t mean God condones it.

From the Bible, we know that:
• Before Abram went to Egypt, he told Sarai to lie to Pharaoh. Genesis 12:10-15
• Abram received a dowry from Pharaoh for Sarai. Genesis 12:14-16
Pharaoh sent Abram and Sarai out of Egypt for deceiving him. Genesis 12:17-20
God is faithful even when we’re faithless. 2 Timothy 2:13
Sin was in the world before the law was given. Romans 5:12-13
