Our Father, you are greatly to be praised and exceedingly feared above all gods. Splendor and majesty are before your throne, and strength and beauty are in your place. We have sinned by not worshiping and glorifying you as we ought. Indeed, you are the Maker of all things, from the greatest even to the least. Heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you. Yet how often have we failed to give you the glory that your greatness deserves. We are commanded to worship you in the beauty of holiness, but more than once we have approached your throne in the ugliness of pride, conceit, and self-centeredness. Our highest duty is to love you, our greatest privilege to worship you, and our chief joy to glorify your name. Yet we have not framed our hearts, used our tongues, or lived our lives in a way consistent with this lofty calling. We are your people, sheep of your pasture, but we have gone astray. Please forgive these and all our sins for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

*Confession of Faith: The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;**
The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
** i.e. his being buried, and continuing in the state of the dead, and under the power of death till the third day.
