GRACEMOUNT COMMUNITY CHURCH | 200920
[1] Opening Reading | Listen for the message that rings out from this church in 1 THESSALONIANS 1:8-10. Just as becoming a Christian is about turning to God, we start this morning by turning our eyes to Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath…
[2] Song ONE | TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS
[3] Prayer | Our God and Father, we pray that the gospel would come to us this morning not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction. May we know that we are loved and chosen by you, and may that produced in us work produced by faith, labour prompted by love, and endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen [1 Thessalonians 1:2-5].
[4] Reading | ACTS 17:1-15
[5] Sermon
[6] Song TWO | GOD IS FOR US
[7] Song THREE | A CHRISTIAN’S DAILY PRAYER
[8] Reading | PSALM 16 | This Psalm of David is applied in Acts to the death and resurrection of Jesus, but you can also imagine it being one that the apostle Paul turned to again and again as he braced himself before entering a new city, or recited as he was fleeing a city…
[9] The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
[10] Prayer | As well as taking time to respond to God’s Word, pray for the work of Burdiehouse and Southhouse Community Church (and their Blythswood Care Food Bank), as they dare to proclaim Jesus in the scheme next door to us.
[11] Song FOUR | AMAZING GRACE
[12] Song FIVE | FOR THE CAUSE
[13] Blessing | 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 | ‘May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.’
