How much are we like Judas Iscariot?
Mary, Lazarus’ sister, took oil of spikenard and anointed Jesus with it. Judas Iscariot had something to say about this action and asked if this oil should have been sold to help the poor ones. Judas must have thought that this was a waste of my possession. Are we as Judas in our thoughts and actions? Are we thinking of ourselves first and not how we may be affecting others? Father, we pray in the name of Jesus that our thoughts and our actions please and glorify you. Please, if we offend you, correct us and our unloving wicked ways. May we trust in you and may you guide us through your son Jesus and your Holy Spirit. I am not asking that you control us, but that you complete us with your understanding, wisdom and knowledge; for we are lost and nothing without you. Please open our eyes and show us the way... the straight paths... the way of righteousness. Father, please help us to grow and to become your children filled with love for you, one another and even our enemies. Help us to overcome evil with good; and bless yet not curse. May we be delivered from the darkness that holds us back and bring us into you light... your guiding light which leads us and directs us and guides us. That gives us strength and comforts us and gives us peace. Thank you most loving and amazing Father. In the name of your son Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen and Shalom.
