b. Paul wrote tenderly to encourage his beloved spiritual son in life and ministry
c. Timothy served with a sincere and genuine heart (Cf. Philippians 2:19 – 23)
i. Sincerely caring for people
ii. Proven character
iii. No hidden agendas
3. Onesiphorus (2 Timothy 1:16 – 18)
a. An outstanding church member in Ephesus
b. He humbly ministered personally to Paul
c. Commendation given to Onesiphorus
i. He often refreshed Paul
ii. He was not ashamed of Paul’s imprisonment (while many in Asia turned away from Paul)

iv. He ministered in many ways to Paul when he was in Ephesus
GREAT CHALLENGES
1. To believe that it is possible to be:
a. A Timothy
b. A Onesiphorus
2. Much depends on:
a. What we seek to become
b. What we pursue in faith and life
