This program begins by further explaining the significance of the day of the Lord coming like a thief. The "day" is not a 24 hour time period, but the beginning of Daniel's 70th week. This will come suddenly and unexpectedly. The verses covered in this broadcast are from the parable of the slaves. How disciples live and treat one another during the time that the Master is not on the scene of history shows whether they truly believe He could come at any time. It is always important to be faithful in our service and to care for the Lord's people. We show how the postmillennial idea of turning the world into a paradise before the Lord returns does not fit at all into the teaching of this parable. This leads us to a discussion of the false, social gospel. We show the logical fallacy of creating a mission based on doing "good" with no possible basis for defining what is truly "good." The term "moral" is meaningless if there is no transcendent law-giver who has spoken bindingly to humans. God defines what it means to be a faithful servant.
