Bible Study recap is a recap from my local churches Bible Study, it is for those watching to do an extensive study to connect the dots of scripture to unlock the hidden truths within the Holy Scriptures.
This week we are discussing how flesh is as grass and how life is shorter than we think, so we must be preserved in the Word of God to Abide with Him in eternity. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of Heaven (1 Corinthians 15:50). Let's ask our self this question why does Peter compare our flesh to grass?
Flesh: weskness, fraility, imperfection, both physical and moral. Also implying sinfulness, prone to sin, the carnal nature, the seat of carnal appetites and desires, of sinful passions, through affections whether moral or physical. Matt. 24:22, 1 Corinthians 15:50, John 3:3
Word of God: Rhema or Logos- a charge, a word uttered by a living voice, prediction, prophecy, the sayings of God, Promise from God, command, teaching, precept, or doctrine.
Endures: to remain, dwell, live, stay, remaining stedfast, persevering. James 1:12, Rev. 2:10, John 8:31, 1 John 2:10
Gospel was preached to you: To announce, publish, declare, to preach the kingdom of God or Jesus, the glad tidings of the loving life of Jesus. Colossians 1:5, Philippines 1:5-6, Ephesians 3:6-8, Galatians 1:16, Mark 8:35
To give your life to Jesus say this prayer of repentance:
Dear Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will, in the name of Jesus Amen.
