“The shepherds are senseless and do not inquire of the Lord; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered.” (Jer 10:21)

There are two ways we can lead our lives: we can rely on our own understanding and wisdom, or we can inquire of God. When we lean on our own understanding, we are trusting in our own resources and wisdom.

While we are given a brain and have a duty to apply it to situations, the foundation of our reasoning should be the Word of God. If we are immersed in His Word and walk with Him intimately, we will have the mind of Christ.

The shepherds were senseless because they did not inquire of the Lord. The result was a lack of prosperity, and what they had was scattered.

Quick Prayer: Remind me to always inquire of You please, Holy Spirit. Amen.
