you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent

Psalm 104:1-9

1 Praise the Lord, my soul.
Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
2 The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent
3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.
4 He makes winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.
5 He set the earth on its foundations;
it can never be moved.
6 You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7 But at your rebuke the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assigned for them.
9 You set a boundary they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.

Today’s title is “Clothed With Splendor And Majesty”

Have you ever seen God? I haven’t. I know that there are some who claims that they have seen God. It is hard to verify. But we don’t need to deny it either. Although it is very rare, God has appeared to some of His servants in person. It is completely upon His sovereign discretion. The old testament people of Israel were afraid to see God face to face. They even thought that they might die when they see God in person. But all of God’s people want to see God if it is allowed to do so at all. Not many will actually see God in person while we are living on earth. So do we have to give up on seeing God at all? Not at all. We can see God everywhere and every time If our spiritual eyes are open. We see God In His words. We see God in our prayers. We see God in the faces of believers. Today’s Psalmist saw God in all creations. He sees God’s cloth and garment, His palace and His chariot. He says, “Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.” There in His chamber, we see God sending out His servants. “He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.” There we see how God rules all things with majesty and power. “ But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.” Isn’t this amazing? The creations that are so close to us all show God. In fact, nothing can show such grand scale of God so clearly as these natural phenomena. Have you see the face and hands of God in the natural environment like this? This is exactly why Paul said “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. (Romans 1:20). “ How true? Indeed God is clearly seen in His beauty, majesty, and power through what has been made. We are without excuse. We are only to worship and praise Him with all our souls, all our minds and all our wills.
