{{ There were issues with my camera focusing as I preached. Sorry for this. I will attempt to fix the issue so that this will not happen in future sermons. }}
Isaiah was called and commissioned by the Lord to proclaim His word to the southern kingdom of Judah. As we begin our study of this book, we see Isaiah's first sermon in which he is told by the Lord that Judah must be condemned for their sin of rebellion. Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, speaks with boldness and clarity what the Lord tells him to say.
The Lord calls for His creation ("heaven" and "earth") to bear witness to the reality of Judah's sinful rebellious heart and the actions they have likewise manifested. The Lord explains the reasons for their rebellion. Isaiah states that the nation of Judah has manifested its rebellion because of a lack of three key areas of their spiritual life. These are as follows:
Area #1: Insight (v. 3)
Area #2: Direction (v. 4)
Area #3: Vitality (vv. 5-8)
