The goal of the 30-Day Growth Challenge is that we fall in love with Jesus and believe in His Word in a greater way than we ever have by developing a daily discipline of studying God’s Word.

The purpose of the book of John: was to show us that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world and that those who believe in Him will have eternal life. John used the word “believe” over 100 times in this book.
John 20:31 (NLT) But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

Subject: Jesus! Who is Jesus?

Author: John was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. He referred to himself as: “The one Who Jesus loved”. John knew Jesus loved him and he loved Jesus and this is what he wanted his readers to experience. John used the word “love” over 80 times.
John 21:7 (NLT) Then “the disciple Jesus loved,” said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!”

WHO IS JESUS?

1) Jesus Christ (The Messiah, the Son of God who was crucified for the sins of humanity before rising from the dead.)

John 1:1-5 (NLT) 1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

1) JESUS IS THE WORD. (VS 1-2) (Jesus and The Word are equal)

John 1:1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed at the beginning with God.

Word: (logos) the reasoning and purpose of life, the cause of all creation and life, the thoughts and sayings of God, commands, and instructions of God. Jesus Christ, the personal wisdom and power of God, the creative order of God.
Insight: Jesus is the Word and therefore Jesus is God. The Word existed in eternity before it existed on paper.

A. THE WORD BECAME HUMAN AND THAT HUMAN WAS JESUS. (One of the titles of Jesus is, “The Word Of God.”)
John 1:14 (NLT) So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Revelation 19:13 (NLT) He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God

B. THE WORD IS GOD THEREFORE JESUS IS GOD.
Beginning: before anything was created before time began, eternity past

Insight: The Word is always at the beginning; the beginning of a new start, of creation, a new life, restoration, wholeness, freedom, a life filled with joy, peace & love, etc. The Word is the cause.

John 17:5 (NLT) Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.

C. WHEN WE ARE STUDYING AND GETTING TO KNOW THE WORD, WE ARE STUDYING AND GETTING TO KNOW JESUS.

Insight: The greatest way to grow in our relationship with God is through growing in our knowledge and application of His Word. Loving and obeying the Word is loving and obeying Jesus. Our relationship with Jesus is in direct correlation to our knowledge and obedience to His Word. To love and obey the Word, is to love Jesus.

John 14:15 (NLT) “If you love me, obey my commandments.

2) JESUS IS THE CREATOR

36:15 John 1:3 (NLT) God created everything through him and nothing was created except through him

37:29 A. EVERYTHING WAS CREATED THROUGH “HIM”(JESUS.)
Created: (ginomai) to come into existence.

Colossians 1:16 (NLT) for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

B. THE PATTERN OF CREATION: GOD SPEAKS IT AND THEN IT HAPPENS.
Genesis 1:3 (NLT) Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

37:55 Genesis 1:6-7 (NLT) Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.”7 And that is what happened.

38:05 Genesis 1:9 (NLT) Then God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And that is what happened.

Psalm 33:6 (NLT) The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.

Insight: And that is how fast your life can be transformed.
39:00 C. THE PATTERN OF US RECEIVING A CREATIVE MIRACLE: GOD SPEAKS HIS WORD - WE BELIEVE IT -THEN IT HAPPENS
Romans 4:17 (NLT) That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.”! This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothingo90p-gbht
