Do you know that a cross was the Roman Empires most heinous instrument of torture? It was reserved for the worst of criminals and yet we find Jesus, an innocent man, God Himself hanging from a tree for crimes He didn’t commit. In this darkest moment one would simply expect Jesus to endure it, satisfy the wrath of God and move on to resurrection. But Jesus doesn’t just endure and move on. Jesus extends love, grace and compassion even in His suffering. What would it mean for us to accept Jesus not just as Savior but also as Lord and do the same?
