The Text Readings (formerly known as “Day Texts”) are usually anywhere from 15-60 minutes. This show involves the translation and meaning of Deuteronomy 5:11.

Here we read the Third of the Ten Commandments given by God through Moses to the Hebrews prior to entering the Promised Land. It tells us something we should never forget when it comes to using the Divine Name. Translations are from the Hebrew (H) and Greek (G) texts.

(H) 5:11 "'You are not to use the name of Jaho(h)-ah God for vanity, because Jaho(h)-ah will not release from punishment the one who uses his name for vanity.'"

(G) 5:11 "'You are not to use the name of Lord [Jaho(h)-ah], your God, over vanity [or, 'a worthless endeavor'], for Lord [Jaho(h)-ah] may not cleanse [or, 'make acceptable'] the one who uses his name over vanity.'"
