What does the bible mean when it says that he made him (Christ) to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of Christ? Does that mean that Jesus became sinful? Evil? Corrupt? Absolutely not. Jesus was the spotless, perfect lamb of God. He never had any sin. In this passage, Paul is discussing the concept of imputation and substitution. Jesus took our place and bore all of our sins on the cross so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
