Stop Doubting and Believe
John 20:24-31

We are here today to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus died on a cross for our sins, was buried in a tomb, and on the third day rose from the dead.

That’s what we say we believe, but is it really true? Nobody wants to be gullible. It’s easy to be skeptical. A certain amount of skepticism is good. But don’t become a cynic. The skeptic says, “I’m struggling to believe; I need some proof.” The cynic says, “I won’t believe despite the proof.” The skeptic says, “I can’t believe yet.” The cynic says, “I won’t believe ever.” If you’re a little skeptical about the resurrection, you’ll relate to one of Jesus’ disciples we often call “Doubting Thomas.” Thomas learned there comes a time to “stop doubting and believe.”
