There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.-Deuteronomy 15:11

Don't shut your ears to the cries of the poor. Especially those in your own household. When you're down in the dumps, of course you'll want someone to come and rescue you. You'll want someone to extend their hand out to you giving you something to drink, buying you some food, helping you get out of your torn and worn out clothes.

Ask the Lord to direct you in ways you can help that individual.
