Having arrived at Mt Sinai, God calls for a meeting to enter into a covenant with Israel. This is a meeting that will drive home to the people the vast separation that exists between deity and humanity and the consequence of ignoring that separation. Yet it is an understanding that makes the work God would do through Jesus so glorious in our lives.
