WORSHIPPING WHEN ABSENT IN BODY
BUT TOGETHER IN SPIRIT

[This is just a suggestion to aid your Sunday worship at home, not to a dictation to restrict it!]

[1] Opening Reading | Psalm 145:8-16
God is good to all, so all should praise him.
He’s the King who lifts up those who fall.
So we look to him to satisfy our desires.

[2] Song ONE | I CHRIST OUR GLORY

[3] Prayer | Living God, help us so to hear your holy Word that we may truly understand; that, understanding, we may believe; and believing, we may follow in all faithfulness and obedience, seeking your honour and glory in all that we do; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

[4] Reading | Exodus 33:1 – 34:9

[5] SERMON In response to God’s Word we’ll sing of the story and the glory of Jesus our mediator, and our urgent need to hide ourselves in him.

[6] Song TWO | ROCK OF AGES
[7] Song THREE | O PRAISE THE NAME

[8] Reading | Hebrews 7:23-28 | Here we read of Jesus as the greater priest and of the better covenant than those we read about in Exodus. Jesus lives forever, he saves completely, and so he meets our need.

[9] Assurance of Pardon | Now hear the good news provided by the Lord of mercy: By faith in Jesus Christ, I am right with God and heir to life everlasting. Even though my conscience accuses me of having grievously sinned against all God’s commandments and of never having kept any of them, and even though I am still inclined toward all evil, nevertheless, without my deserving it at all, out of sheer grace, God grants and credits to me the perfect satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ, as if I have never sinned, nor been a sinner, as if I had been as perfectly obedient as Christ was obedient for me. All I need to do is accept this gift of God with a believing heart.

[10] Prayer | Spend time praying for those in the NHS, and those we know battling with lockdown...

[11] Song FOUR | I CHRIST IS MINE FOREVERMORE

[12] Benediction | Numbers 6:24-26 | ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace
