This section is so fascinating, in that it goes beyond the simple details of Ezra's return, and what was going to be happening upon his return. There are details and an accounting of those who came with him and the favor he had found, by God's hand, in the eyes of the Persian king.

What makes this such an amazing section is his state of mind when it came to what he was doing, and how much he was dependent on the God who tasked him for his work. He is a man who is infinitely aware of what it means to trust God and how to be sure that every moment and every possible step in the process was brought before God for His blessing and provision.

Every believer, yes in the church, should be familiar with this part of Judah's history, because it is foundation to our understanding of God and how He interacts with, and provides for His own.
