I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. — Ezekiel 11:19

Our world, without a doubt, is divided. But the primary issues dividing us are not social, political, ideological, or financial. I hate to say it, but the real issue is deeper and more personal — it's a problem with you. And as God declares to Ezekiel, the issue is a matter of the spirit and heart within us. We have cold hard dead hearts and calloused spirits that need a replacement. And God is the only one who can provide this replacement. He must take out the old one and put in a new one.

This year maybe it's time to submit your heart and spirit to God. And I am not talking about attempting a new activity or engaging in a new discipline for God. I am talking about letting God have all your desires and motives. Giving him the very heart and spirit of who you are. Could it be time to submit the deepest part of you to the Great Physician's hands? To let him do a complete surgical transplant? Let him get his hands on the old cold hard dead parts of you and remove them and dispose of them altogether? To let him put a new spirit and heart within you?

If you are willing to let God do this, it will change you. It will change everything about you. And in a world of division, you will finally be undivided and ready to act in total obedience to God's will.

If you are willing to do this, just write these words below.  "God, I submit my heart and spirit to you."

God will hear you. And then get ready because something new is coming.

ASK THIS: Do you need to need a transplant?

DO THIS: Write this below: "God, I submit my heart and spirit to you."

PRAY THIS: God, I am ready for my transplant. Take out my old calloused spirit and my cold, hard dead heart. Put a new spirit in me, and give me a brand new heart. And with it, may my life and actions change.
