Having looked at the introduction of Paul's momentous epistle to the Galatians (1:1-5), as well as the occasion and goal of the book, namely to combat the false gospel of the Judaizers and prevent the Galatians from finalizing their departure from the one who called them by the grace of Christ (1:6-10), we will now begin to look in greater depth at Paul's defense of his apostleship and the divine origin and authority of the gospel that he preached (1:11ff.), something already broached but not yet unpacked in the opening line of the epistle.
