Giving a BLESSING!
Genesis 47:1-12
HAPPY SWEET DECEMBER!!! (Day One)
Joseph and Israel were blessed by Pharaoh and his people. They were going to be given the best of the land, the land of Goshen (Gen 47:11). But now as Jacob comes before the most powerful person of the known world at that time, he humbles himself, calls himself a servant (Gen 47:4) and then speaks a blessing over Pharaoh (Gen 47:7 & 10). This was more powerful than any physical gift, it was a spiritual gift spoken to Pharaoh on behalf of God by Jacob.
Disciple Principle: As servants of Christ, we are all gifted with the ability if we chose, to be a blessing and to speak forth a blessing to others on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is really the true ministry of being a servant / disciple of Christ. Remember: You may not have much to physically give, but we can all speak forth a blessing one to another. In blessing you will be blessed. (Ps 34:1, Ps 103:1-2, Ps 134:1-2, Matt 5:2-11, Mark 10:16)
