Giving Mercy!
Genesis 43:1-14
When there is famine in the land and no bread to eat, we must go individually upright before the Lord God Almighty and ask Him to show and to give mercy to us (Gen 43:14). We also need to come before Him as a family, so that all members of our household may have bread. Judah and Jacob had to deal with things individually, but they all had to “go” before the lord corporately (Gen 43;13) on behalf of their father Israel. Disciple Principle: Christ calls us to come before Him during our times of famine and ask of Him to show us mercy as a follower and as a family (the church). It takes the whole family to be willing to get up and go before Christ our Almighty One. Remember: Mercy is something we need to go and ask for individually and together as followers of Christ (Mat 9:13, 9:27, Luke 1:50).
