Giving of Bread and Grace!
Genesis 47:13-26
Joseph is used by God to strip away from the people their money (Gen 47:14-15), livestock (Gen 47:16-17, land and even themselves (Gen 47:18-19) to the place that they become servants (Gen 47:25). In the end after they are at a place of death, they are now moved into the cities (Gen 13:21), given bread and seed (Gen 47:23) both for themselves and for their family (Gen 47:24) and all that was required was that the give back a tithe 20% to the king (Gen 47:24 & 26). The people realized that Joseph had saved them from death, and they pray that he would continue to show them grace and in return they would be the king’s servants (Gen 47:25). Disciple Principle: Christ does not forsake us, but takes us on a journey, to strip away those things that we hold on to or make god’s of, which we are hoping will give us bread / life. True bread and seed come from the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:23-26). Remember: Our Lord Jesus Christ, proclaims that He is the “Bread of life” (John 6:32-51). All we must do is come to Him by faith and believe (John 3:16, 36; 11:25).
