Synopsis: Jacob fled from Laban with his family and flocks, and when Laban found out he quickly pursued him--only to be rebuked by God. An interaction which could have been harmful resulted in them making a covenant they would do each other no harm. The New Covenant Jesus established by grace through faith is an infinitely better covenant, providing atonement and eternal life with God as our witness.
