God Promises To Restore - Isaiah 43:1-4, 10-12 International Sunday School Lesson

“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine” (Isaiah 43:1).

There are many things that can become gods in our lives. There are many things that can distract us from God; so we need to be reminded at times that He alone is in control. We are His possession, and that makes us special and gives us a reason to hope. As we trust in Him, we can be assured that He will be with us through all our trials and difficulties. We can lean on His word from this text: “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour” (see Isaiah 43:11).
Since God has created and redeemed His people, we need not be paralyzed by fear (Isaiah 43:1).
In any situation, God’s omnipresence can bring comfort and courage to His own (Isaiah 43:2).
God’s people can rest and rely on His love; for it undergirds all that He does in our lives (Isaiah 43:3-4).

Christians have been chosen as God’s witnesses and must serve Him in that capacity (Isaiah 43:10; Acts 1:8).
The truth remains that God alone can change a heart and save a soul (Isaiah 43:11-12).

I. A REDEEMED NATION (Isaiah 43:1-2)
1. But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
II. A RANSOMED NATION (Isaiah 43:3-4)
3. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
III. A RENEWED NATION (Isaiah 43:10-12)
10. Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.
12. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.
