The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. — Proverbs 28:1

This verse is awesome. It compares two men: a wicked man and a righteous man.

First, let's consider the wicked man. He is the man who flees. He is skittish. He is skittish because his conscience is weighed down with guilt. He is scared of getting caught. And when he does, he will defend, explain, and blame, which might look like boldness, but it's only an attempt to hide his guilt and insecurities. Because inside, he is always running even when no one is pursuing him.

Then there is a righteous man. He is guiltless. He is like a lion lying in a field. While surrounded by game and prey, he never flinches. He is not threatened. Not a muscle twitches. His breathing is steady. The pace of his heart never skips a beat. This is the image of the righteous man. Bold as a lion and undeterred.

So, men, there are two options for living, guilty or guiltless. Choose to be the lion. Guiltless. Bold. Undeterred.

ASK THIS: How can you be a lion today?

DO THIS: Be bold. Be a lion.

PRAY THIS: God, may every decision I make today be guiltless, bold, and undeterred.

PLAY THIS: Lion — Chris Brown & Brandon Lake.
