This is the fifth installment of our video Habakkuk series. As usual, it should be suitable for individuals and families.

Discussion or Personal Meditation Questions:

1. What stories and parts of Scripture are your favorite to go to in order to remind yourself of God's mighty works of salvation? When is the last time you read and dwelt on that book or part of a book?

2. When you think about the "fear of the Lord," what comes to your mind? How can something inspire awe and reverence in us as well as make our knees knock? Do you ever get this feeling when praying or worshiping? Perhaps think about this quote from "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe":
"People who have not been in Narnia sometimes think that a thing cannot be good and terrible at the same time. If the children had ever thought so, they were cured of it now. For when they tried to look at Aslan's face they just caught a glimpse of the golden mane and the great, royal, solemn, overwhelming eyes; and then they found they couldn't look at him and went all trembly."

3. What parts of current life do you need to spend less of your time and energy focusing on? How can looking back, like Habakkuk, help you? What stories of God's goodness do you need to tell yourself again? Tell them to someone else this week and ask them to tell you one of their stories.

4. When thinking about how God "pierced with his own arrows the heads of his warriors," dwell on this answer from the Heidelberg Catechism telling us how God's creation and providence help us:
"We can be patient when things go against us, thankful when things go well, and for the future we can have good confidence in our faithful God and Father that nothing will separate us from his love. All creatures are so completely in his hand that without his will they can neither move nor be moved."

5. How does your perspective on your life and this world need to be changed by looking back at God's mighty works of salvation?
