Let's pray,
May our faith be such, O God, that we do not look merely at our circumstances but always to the One who is in control of our circumstances. When things seem to be getting worse in our lives, may we remember that the trial of our faith is more precious that gold refined in the furnace. Help us develop joy, as part of the fruit of the Spirit, which is not dependant on changeable outward circumstances but on our unchanging relationship with our God. Help us to remember, O Lord, that the darkest hour is always before dawn and victory lies beyond the cross. May the joy of the Lord always be our strength no matter what is happening around us.
