In examining 1 Corinthians 1:17-25 and Genesis 17 through the lens of Lord's Day 25 we find that in accordance with the infinite wisdom of God, the Holy Spirit brings the elect to saving faith through the "foolish" message of Christ crucified, and seals the promise of that salvation to them by the visible signs and seals of the new covenant, baptism and the Lord's supper.
