5:6 5:1 says “we know,” 5:6 says “we are always confident,” and 5:8 says “we are confident.” This shows that there is no doubt that we will be forever with the Lord once we die.

As long as we have our vile flesh, “we are absent from the Lord.”

5:7 We are to walk according to who we are in Christ, not according to our vile flesh.

Walking by faith means walking by God’s Word rightly divided (Hebrews 11:1; Romans 10:17; 1:17; Matthew 4:4) not by some blind faith in fatalism or living by feelings (James 3:15).

5:8 When believers die, we are “absent from the [vile] body” “and…present with the Lord.” This is preferred to staying in our vile bodies as Christians. “FAR better” (Philippians 1:23).

Churchianity has no confidence in going to heaven, which is why they are afraid to die and do not walk by faith. They say they are going to heaven, because that is the right thing to say to maintain a fair shew in the flesh (Galatians 6:12).
