#Trinity
Trinitarians believe Jesus as "God the Son" is equal to God the Father in his eternal essence. They believe he took on humanity but retained his divinity and so he was always equal to God even though a man. Two texts Trinitarians often use to support their belief are John 5:18 and Philippians 2:6, two texts which most translations (including NWT) use the terms "equal" and "equality," respectively, for Jesus' relationship to God.
Is this what John 5:18 and Philippians 2:6 teach? What does it mean to be "equal" to someone in a biblical sense? How would Jesus being "equal" to God the Father fit with his statement in John 14:28, namely, "the Father is great than I am"?
We will examine these questions and more in this livestream.
