In 1929, the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society purchased land in San Diego CA to build a house they claimed Old Testament prophets would come back and live in. The Watchtower Society later covered this up claiming it was built for their president to spend his winters in because he was sick.

For the record, despite what others might think, I really do care about them. If I didn't I wouldn't even to this. Only eternity will reveal the fruit of this.
