The tangibility of Jesus Christ come in the flesh is the ground for discerning spirits. Terminology in 1John 1:1 reminds us of Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1. “In the beginning” shows the deity and pre-existence of Christ. The Bible requires two or three witnesses to confirm facts in a legal setting. The apostles were those witnesses. We must have a clear definition of the biblical Christ in order to know we are not trusting a false Christ. We must come to the Christ of the Bible and reject the cosmic Christ.
