So often we evaluate our lives with the thought that, if things are good or going well, then God really loves me. Or if things are bad, then God must not love me. Too many people live their lives according to this standard. Embracing this pattern of beliefs is extremely dangerous. Jesus said "...In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33. Jesus himself said "...do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." John 7:24 The Lord wants His people to maintain a biblical an eternal perspective when examining their lives.
