Anointing (Judges 6:33–35)

My immediate devotional response to reading: The greatest resource is the Lord’s Spirit, and with the Spirit, everything is possible to advance the Kingdom of God. Power comes from God and therefore praise and glory for the deeds belong to God. Praise the Lord!

Soon after these events, the spirit of God comes upon Gideon and empowers him to fight the Midianites. A vast army of Midianites and Amalekites unite to attack Israel. Judges 6:34 says, “The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon.” The Spirit of the Lord comes upon Gideon, and he blows a ram’s horn to gather an army.
