There are times when we have allowed fear and anxiety into our lives, forgetting to keep our eyes on Jesus in the midst of the storm. We forget that God is in control of the winds and waves and that all He ordains for us in our lives is for our good (Romans 8:28).

We allow fear to paralyse us, doubting God’s love, mercy and faithfulness towards us. We know that this does not glorify God. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

God tells us to ‘fear not’ 365 times in the Bible. He does not want us to live in fear but to be filled with the power of His Spirit and with great faith and confidence in our Heavenly Father. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2Timothy 1:7)

Faith is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8) and so we must daily pray for God to increase our faith in Him. “...Lord, Increase our faith.” (Luke 17:5)

Friend, if you have been doubting and living in fear, choose to live by faith and not by sight! Be like the father in Mark 9:24; cry out to God to have mercy upon you, to forgive you of your faithlessness in Him and to give you the gift of faith to trust Him. Ask Him to take away the fear that does not please Him and cast all your cares into His loving hands by prayer.

How can we increase our faith? It is through studying and obeying God’s Word and prayer. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) Put your heart into seeking after God and His Word; take time to pray and cultivate a relationship with Jesus your Saviour.

Believe and claim the promises of God in the Bible through prayer and seek God’s blessings upon your life (1Chronicles 4:10). Nothing is impossible with God! “...With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

???? Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey! ????
