When we read the Bible, do we stand by God’s Truth or are we offended by it?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
God gives those who believe in Jesus faith to trust every of His Word written in the Bible. True believers of Christ hold fast to the Word of God; it is the foundation of their faith in Christ.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Word of God is life and breath to their souls: God’s Word is alive to them; it is the sword of God the Holy Spirit who changes them to be more Christ-like as they daily read and understand the Bible (Hebrews 4:12). They are doers of God’s Word and not hearers only (James 1:22).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Word of God is precious to them. It is light to their feet and a lamp to their path in life. It shows them the right from wrong according to God’s standard of holiness and perfection. It encourages and strengthens them in trials, and defends them from the deceits of the devil.

Psalm 119:104-105 “Through Thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

In times of persecution, will you stand firmly by God’s Word? Will you proclaim the truth and shine the light of Christ in this world, when this would cause people to hate you?

John 3:19-20 “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”

Do not deny Christ and compromise with evil in this world. Endure persecution for Christ’s sake for “great is your reward in heaven” (Matthew 5:12). May we have reverential fear of God, to walk in His ways and His light, and to boldly point people to Christ! Hold forth the Word of Life and stand firmly by it (Philippians 2:16).
