What the bible points out
* Because God loves you he wants to lead you.
* We don't always want to be led by God.

Why we don't allow God to lead us
(1) Misplaced authority (Hosea 8:1-3)
Ways we allow this to happen in our lives
* Material possessions
* Relationships
* Jobs
(2) Misunderstood autonomy (Hosea 8:4)
* Paul wants us to understand in Colossians: Jesus holds all things together throughout creation.
* We fail in the same way because of pride. (Genesis 11:4)
(3) Misguided adoration (Hosea 8:5-6)
* We will sometimes place our adoration in things like: money, power, government, or even technology
(4) Miscalculated assumptions (Hosea 8:14)
* God wants to lead us so much that he sent a shepherd
