Lessons From Quarantine James 4: 13-16: A sermon on God's Will, not worrying, and letting your light shine for all to see. Quarantine has taught me a whole lot about a whole lot...lessons learned...

Sermon title: Why are you breathing like that? : Things Learned in quarantine.

Point: Let’s not go back to normal. We should embrace being better.

Pillars:

What is really important.

Family: Most people say family is the most important thing to them but don’t really back it up.

James 1 2-4

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Right now, this moment is a gift. Thats why it’s called the present. The challenges that we face make us stronger and teach us to rely on God for our strength.

Sharing my faith:

Mathew 5 16-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Don’t worry

Luke 12:25-31 New International Version (NIV)

25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?
26 Since you cannot do this very little thing,
why do you worry about the rest?

James 1 2-4

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Nothing is guaranteed

13-Jas.4.16" class="scriptRef">James 4 13-16 13
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
