Jesus is Man
(1 Timothy 2:1-7)

God
is a person.
Jesus
is the only begotten person in God’s bosom (Jn 1:18).
Though He is the form of God (Jn 10:30),
He did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made Himself nothing,
took the nature of a servant, was made in human likeness,
and lowered Himself by appearing as a man (Phil 2:6-8).
He became man
to die on the cross
so that those in heaven and on earth and under the earth
would all bow their knees and confess Jesus is Lord
and glorify God the Father (Phil 2:9-11).
Before the creation,
He was glorified with God in heaven (Jn 17:6).
To appear to the world, He first
made mankind in His image from the dust.
He breathed the breath of life and they became living beings.
Jesus is the image of God’s person (Col 1:15).
Mankind was made in God’s image and likeness (Gen 1:26).
〇 Jesus is a person before mankind.
Mankind was made in His image and likeness,
but Jesus is the Creator’s person and mankind are created persons.
〇 Mankind refers to persons.
This means they are beings with intellect, emotion, will and control.
〇 Jesus is not a creation.
He is the man from before eternity.
Mankind are creatures made in the likeness of His image.
※ Jesus was even before His mother,
before Abraham and before Adam.
He is the man in God’s image.
