A Healthy Helplessness
John 15:1-11 (Part 1)

Summary – Apart from Christ, we cannot live the Christian life.

Key Idea: To live for Christ we must abide in Christ.

I. The Priority of Abiding in Christ: We must abide in Christ over anything else.

“I am helpless, and the world offers no hope”
A. I am helpless…

We need a humility that is rooted in a healthy helplessness.

B. …and the world offers no hope

II. The Practice of Abiding in Christ: We must abide in Christ through abiding in his Word, and in his love.

To abide in Christ is to remain in him through faith.
Practically, it means to be sustained and strengthened by Christ through actively pursuing him in faith.

The Word is the foundation of faith
The Word is the fuel of faith
