What can little children teach us about how to be saved? LOTS!!!

One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But when the disciples saw this, they scolded the parents for bothering him.

Luke 18:15-17
And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them. 16But Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” NASB

It was customary for a mother to bring her children to a rabbi for a blessing, and that is why these mothers gathered around Jesus. The disciples, however, thought the children were unworthy of the Master's time—less important than whatever else he was doing. But Jesus welcomed them because little children have the kind of faith and trust needed to enter God's kingdom.

Meaning for us today?

Implications for people today?

Jesus expect children to “repent” if the meaning was to commit doing your best to avoid sin?

How long would a little child last before Mommy said, “Tommy, you know I told you not to do that.”

A little child just does not have the maturity to repent of sinning yet Jesus indicates that we are to become like little children.

So the meaning?

Simply that while a little child might be lucky to be obedient for half a day (most mommies might say lucky to make it for a minute!) most little children DO trust their mommies and daddies.

That is what Jesus wants from people in order to be saved. To trust Him.

Repent in Age of Grace means to turn from seeing Jesus as anyone other than God who gave His life on the cross as payment for the penalty of your sins.
