The Gospel of Mark is widely believed to be the first of the four gospels penned by the gospel writers, with the apostle Peter being the source of Mark’s material as result of Mark being Peter’s disciple, hence, a first hand account of the Story of Jesus from an eye witness.

The Gospel of Mark highlights the unexpected nature of the Messiah’s work to save His people – to suffer and die for them. Hence, readers are challenged to decide what type of Messiah or Saviour does one expect.

Much of Mark’s Material are re-appropriated by both Matthew and Luke, therefore a significant overlap between the three Synoptic Gospel is to be expected, but we shall hear from Jesus, some teachings that are unique in the Gospel of Mark, either in Content or in presentation
